Domestic Twenty20 teams from India, Australia, England, South Africa, New Zealand, Sri Lanka and West Indies will be playing in Airtel Champions League Twenty20 2011 edition. 7 teams have already qualified for the group stages of the Airtel Champions League T20 2011 season. The last three spots will be occupied by 3 teams chosen through the qualifying matches.
Airtel Champions League T20 2011 qualifying system:
- 6 Teams divided into two pools
- Top three finishers qualify for group stages
- Top two finishers from each pool of round robin method will qualify for group stage
- Third highest ranked team will be selected based on points and net run rate
- Qualifier matches will be held in Hyderabad at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium
Airtel Champions League T20 2011 : Group Stages
- 10 teams divided into two groups each consisting of 5 teams
- Top 2 form each group move on to semifinals stage
- A total of 23 matches will be played including the 2 semifinals and finals
- Group stage matches will be hosted by Eden Gardens (Kolkata ), M. Chinnaswamy Stadium (Bangalore) and M. A. Chidambaram Stadium (Chennai)

- Chennai Super Kings (defending CLT20 Champions)
- Cape Cobras (South Africa's Pro20 Series Champions)
- NSW Blues (2009 Champions)
- Mumbai Indians
- The fifth team from the group will be the team that finishes top of Pool B in the qualifier.
Champions League T20 2011 : Group B
- Royal Challengers Bangalore (IPL runners-up)
- Warriors from South Africa (2010 CLT20 runner-up)
- South Australian Redbacks (Australia's Twenty20 Big Bash Champions)
- The remaining two places will be filled by the top finisher in pool A and the 3rd highest qualifier
