India Vs England 2011 Preview, Tour Schedule

India Vs England 2011 tour is one of the highly expected cricket encounters of the year 2011 following the ICC World Cup. It needless to say that England and India are equally matched sides with right mix of bowlers, batsmen and all-rounders in their squads.

At one point India might look statistically good than the hosts but England's previous meetings have proved them to be a team aspiring to reach the No 1 slot. India will be playing 4 test matches,4 ODIs and 1 Tewenty20 internationl match in this tour apart from the practice matches with England county teams. Now let us compare the batting, bowling and fielding strengths of either sides.
India Vs England 2011 : Batting strengths
India has one of the most destructive batting lineup in the world, but most of the batsmen are vulnerable to a consistent bowling show needles whatever the team's name be. As far as the test matches are concerned, Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman, Rahul Dravid will be the trio to look out for. England do have their best Men in right slot which includes, skipper Andrew Strauss, Alaistar Cook, Jonathan Trott, Kevin Pietersen and Ian Bell. These players will make the difference and showcase experience, patients and consistency when it matters.

India Vs England 2011 : Bowling strengths
Chris Tremlett, James Anderson, Graeme Swann will be the bowlers menacing the strong batting lineup of India. Most of the English bowlers have the capability to bowl short balls at ease and the fact that sub-continent players are quite vulnerable for short balls will give the bowlers the upper hand. Zaheer Khan accompanied by Ishant Sharma, Munaf Patel and experienced off-spinner Harbhajan Singh will have a go at the English batsmen. Stuart Broad, Tim Bresnan, Praveen Kumar and Sreesanth will be expected to perform up to their standards as they are the prime backup bowlers for their respective captains.
India Vs England 2011 : Fielding strengths
India for sure can be mentioned as a good fielding side these days as the presence of youngsters like Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma has lifted the quality of fielding in the side. On the other hand England has some of the best slip catchers and fielders like Andrew Strauss, Kevin Pietersen, Ian Bell and Alastair Cook. The fielding in the India Vs England 2011 really matters because the pacy and bouncy tracks of English soil is sure to yield more wickets through catches.
India Vs England 2011 : Home ground advantage
The home ground advantage will definitely be a advantage for the Englishmen as they have a healthy performance record in their home soil especially when it comes to test match cricket. Their recently concluded tour with Sri Lanka is a best example for that matter. But, considering the strong Indian side with all the experienced lads returning back to the squad, it is never going to be easy for England to lift the trophy.

Sri Lankan Premier League to convince BCCI for Indian players entry | SLPL 2011 Teams List

Sri Lanka Cricket, the governing body of cricket in Sril Lanka, has claimed that the Sri Lankan Premier League is controlled by the cricket board for convincing BCCI. Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) prevented 12 players from playing the SLPL suspecting that is is completely run by a private body. Fast bowlers Praveen Kumar, Munaf Patel, Irfan Pathan and off spinner Ravivhandran Ashwin were the few players among the 12.

In an exclusive interview to ESPNcricinfo, SLC's secretary Nishantha Ranatunga said, 'This tournament is approved by SLC. And Somerset are the marketing arm, having won the rights through a tender process. Nobody can say it is owned by Somerset'.
Unlike the IPL, all the SLPL teams are owned by SLC (Sri Lanka Cricket). The SLPL is expected to bring in more money for the board and for this they badly need Indian and other foreign players to take part in the league. BCCI President Shashank Manohar said, that Indian players will not be taking part in the SLPL as t is run by a private body.
According to a news report in The Sunday leader, 'Financially bankrupt SLC is to commission the army, navy and air force to help it maintain three cricket stadiums - Sooriyawewa, Kettarama and Pallekele. SLC has been rocked by allegations of fraud and short-sighted management policies including political interference that has led to its current predicament.'

Its-Wild
SLC President Ranatunga is confident that he will convince the BCCI for allowing Indian players to play in SLPL. 'We need to explain the matter to the BCCI and whatever the concerns that they have, we need to give them an explanation. It is very important to have them (Indian players) as they add a lot of value and glamour to the tournament.'
Sri Lanka Premier League Players List and Captains:
Sri Lanka Premier League will have 35 foreign players including Shahid Afridi, Daniel Vettori, Kieron Pollard, Chris Gayle, Herschelle Gibbs and many others. A team can have 5 foreign players in the squad with four in the playing eleven. Shahid Afridi will be leading Nagenahira Nagas, Daniel Vettori will be captaining Uthura Oryxes while Sri Lankan players Sanath Jayasuriya, Mahela Jayawardane, Kumar Sangakkara, Chaminda Vaas and Tilakratne Dilshan will be leading their respective home town teams.

MI Vs KKR IPL Playoffs Live Streming : Preview

Mumbai Indians vs Kolkata Knight Riders will be facing each other in the first knockout match of Ipl 2011 season. The team which loses today will get eliminated and the winning team will face yet another test with Royal Challengers Bangalore to qualify for the IPL 2011 Finals. Chennai Super Kings, with an emphatic victory have qualified for the IPL 2011 Finals. Now the battle is on between the three tough teams Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers and Kolkata Knight Riders .

India IPL Cricket
Date, Venue, Time :
Wednesday, May 25, 2011, Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, 8pm

MI Vs KKR IPL Playoffs Eliminator :
Team Strengths
Mumbai Indians have been relying on the skills of Sachin Tendulkar, Ambati Rayudu and Rohit Sharma for scoring their runs. Even their lesser totals have been successfully defended by their bowling and fielding attack which is not happening in the second half of the tournament. Sachin and Malinga, who were at peak form in the first half of the tournament, are looking in bad shape in the second half. Kieron Pollard and Andrew Symonds, the two big hitters have not delivered their best yet.
Lasith Malinga, who had a dream run in the first half of IPL 4 has not played vital roles in their matches they lost. Senior leg-spinner Harbhajan Singh is going for too many runs which is surely a bad sign for the Mumbai Indians.
Kolkata Knight Riders, once again have to depend of their run making machines Jacques Kallis, Gautam Gambhir and Manoj Tiwary for providing a good start. Jacques Kallis has made 417 runs so far, but was questioned for his strike rate being just above 112. But Kallis's anchoring innings can never be played by anybody and it is much needed when KKR lose early wickets.
Yusuf pathan has helped KKR with his batting and bowling abilities but he hasn't played his match winning knock yet. Spinner Iqbal Abdulla Shakib Al Hasan and Rajat Bhatia has been impressive so far and should continue the same even today. Medium pacer Lakshmipathy Balaji's presence in the KKR squad is quite uncertain as he devoted KKR's winning match to Mumbai Indians in just one over.
